ABOUT DEA

Hi there. I'm Dea. My real, full name is Andrea Vander-Fertgus. So, the story goes that when I was a kid I couldn't pronounce Andrea and would say Dea (Dee-uh). Dea stuck. I've embraced it, and to this day most people know me as Dea. It's also just fine to call me, Andrea.

I'm married to my best friend, Lindsey. I don't mean to brag, but our story is pretty much a lesbian fairy tale. We went to preschool together and both cried when forced to wear dresses for school picture day, in high school we became best friends playing softball together, then we fell in love when we entered the real world. We have 2 dogs, River and Star, 1 cat, Chester, and our other cat, the late Caeser, R.I.P.

I've been an artist all of my life. I got my talents from my dad. I've been doing design work for 14 years, and have taught various art mediums for 10 years. My specialties include branding, illustration, and painting. I'm here to solve your visual problems and have a great time doing it along the way.

My Passion Project:

The WNBA Club

I started the WNBA Club at the start of the 2023 WNBA season. It's a club for fans to connect locally and across the country on all things WNBA and women’s sports. As of today, there are 8 clubs across the U.S. (Denver, Albuquerque, Austin, Detroit, D.C., Los Angeles, Syracuse, and St Louis). Our Denver club as grown exponentially from 2023 to 2024. My goal is to continue to expand across cities by connecting with fans via social media to manage the local club chapters.

I designed the club logo that emphasizes the capital 'W' referencing the nickname for the league, The W, as well as for Women. The signature WNBA orange and white striped basketball is placed at the bottom-right of the W as the period.

There are club shirts for each team and the original club city, Denver shirt available on my online shop.

I manage the club’s social media and watch-party events for Denver as well as the national page. Follow the Club on Instagram @WNBAclub_Denver or @WNBAclub_nationwide.
